On Our Radar

by Liza Mattimore

Collaborations between the performing arts and fine art institutions and heritage sites have become a bit of fad recently.  Some partnerships, like the Campbell House's recent preview of Hogtown, have been tremendously successful with critics and audiences.  With that in mind we are very curious to see what Acting Up Stage and the AGO get up to with their upcoming collaboration Reframed.

Reframed is a groundbreaking venture for Canadian musical theatre, bringing together three short musicals inspired by paintings in the AGO and performed right beside them in the gallery's Richard Barry Fudger Memorial Gallery. Reframed also highlights the work of three exciting pairs of bookwriters and composers (including Dora Award winners, a Governor General's Award winner and a Stratford Festival favourite). It sounds pretty cool and we will definitely be there to check it out.  Click here for more information.
